Team Twisted Tea/H.E.P. Suzuki, presented by Progressive Insurance, had a solid Rd 9 of the 2022 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship series in New Berlin, New York, at the iconic Unadilla MX track. The team was without Brandon Hartranft, who was absent due to an injury in the previous round. Marshal Weltin led the way for the team. His best race came in the second moto with 15th place. Unfortunately, he suffered a first moto mechanical that forced him to retire from the track early, which hampered his overall result. 

Marshal Weltin #285: Despite the overall result, Weltin had a strong round at Unadilla. He, unfortunately, suffered a moto one mechanical that forced him to retire from the race early. The team quickly diagnosed and fixed the issue, getting Marshal on the line for the second moto. Weltin put out a solid effort in the second moto with 15th place. He finished 19th overall, going 38-15 in two motos. 

“Right from the go, I struggled,” said Marshal Weltin. “I think the break thru me off with my riding, and that kind of rebounded into my motos. I put myself in a decent potion in the first moto and was running as high as 12th place, I believe. I had an unfortunate mechanics issue that forced me to come in early. The mechanics did a stellar job getting the bike going for the next moto. Given my gate pick, I didn’t get a good start, but I was able to work my way up into 15th place. I will put the work boots on and grind out back in California this week. Going to keep plugging away.”  

Brandon Hartranft #41: The team was without Brandon Hartranft for the 8th round of the 2022 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross series. Brandon suffered a ligament tear in his right ankle. He sustained this injury at the 7th round in Washougal, WA. Look for him to return to racing soon.

“Happy with how the team handled the day,” said Team Manager Dustin Pipes. “Marshal led the way for us. An unfortunate mechanical issue kept him from finishing the first moto. Our mechanics worked swiftly, making sure he was back on the bike for the next moto. Definitely a bummer not having Brandon this round. We are hoping to have him back for Budds Creek.” 

Team Twisted Tea/H.E.P. Suzuki, presented by Progressive Insurance, continues its East Coast trek with Rd 10 at Budds Creek Motocross Park in Mechanicsville, Maryland. Practice starts at 7:00 AM PST, and racing begins at 10:00 AM PST.
