H.E.P. Motorsports Dominates the Starting Line in Indianapolis

The 2021 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Series is in Indianapolis for the 3rd, 4th and 5th rounds. H.E.P. Motorsports riders’ Brandon Hartranft and Adam Enticknap had a strong day with superb starts and impressive riding. Max Anstie continues to recover from a injury suffered prior to round one and is expected to return in Orlando.

Brandon Hartranft (#28) had a solid day in Indy with superb starts, making it straight to the main out of the heat with a near hole-shot in a stacked class. In the main event, Brandon continued to show the Suzuki’s ability to get off the gate with another great start and was racing up front. Unfortunately, a few mistakes early on, cost him key positions. Hartranft finished 18th overall in just his 3rd race of his rookie season.

“The track was definitely challenging, but I felt okay throughout the day,” said Brandon Hartranft. “Definitely getting used to racing the 450 coming from the 250 class. In the heat race, I came around I think in 3rd place so that was good. I held 6th for about 2 laps before I made a mistake. I was out of a qualifying position and then I raced my way back into a transfer position. In the main event I had a good start again, and rode well, but I made some mistakes and dropped back to 20th. I was able to finish in 18th. I tried to stay consistent and not make too many mistakes, I’m going to try and prevent any mistakes the next round and do the best I can.”

Adam Enticknap (#722) had himself a day in Indianapolis, showing his speed in qualifying and then getting it done in his heat race. Nearly hole-shotting a stacked class, and locking down a transfer position early, Adam finished out his heat in 8th place. In the main event Enticknap continued to put his RM-Z Suzuki up front off the gate with a strong start. Adam had a strong main, but made a few mistakes and had an issue with rear wheel traction that forced him to pull in pit row, placing him in 22nd place on the night.

“Indianapolis was definitely different then Houston,” said Adam Enticknap. “My bike was definitely running good, my suspension was great, and I felt very comfortable. In the heat I got the start I wanted and felt very confident going forward. I finished 8th in the heat which I think was one of my best rides yet in Supercross and in my career. So I was stoked on that. Going into the main event, I had high expectations for myself and I felt that I raced very good for 10 minutes, but I made a few costly mistakes. I’m excited for next round and to get more mains underneath my belt.”

“The race was good, the riders did well having strong starts in their heats,” said crew chief, Clark Jones from NoleenJ6 Technologies. “I was happy with both of their heat race results, but I think they both have room for improvement. As far as the main event goes, I think we have some work to do. The riders did well at times but didn’t put it together consistently throughout the main event.  Overall, I think it was a good day and a step in the right direction.

H.E.P. Motorsports prepares for another round in Indianapolis. Expect to see the strong starts and improved finishes continue this Tuesday.
