Inside the Pipe: June 16, 2026

Talk about a masterclass in the dirt! Despite managing a lingering ankle injury, Honda HRC Progressive racer Jett Lawrence put on an absolute clinic at the '26 Thunder Valley National in Colorado.

"My first few laps, I had both wheels sliding because of the mulch and the water on top of it. In that first moto, I didn’t have the flow of the track at all, and because I was so disjointed and didn’t have much of a fire, I almost got more tired in the first moto than I did in the second one—we were just in defense mode in the first one," he said. "To be fair, my ankle felt really good this weekend. I still can’t ride normal, but I just have a little bit less pain. It was still pretty stiff to move side to side, but this week we had a lot more range of motion.”

The defending champion raced his Honda CRF450R Works Edition to a flawless 1-1 moto sweep, snaring both holeshots and leading every single lap of the event. This dominant victory not only marked his fourth consecutive premier-class overall win at the Lakewood venue but also officially propelled him into the 450 AMA Pro Motocross Championship points lead.

In a spectacular breakthrough for the factory Honda HRC Progressive squad, Jo Shimoda captured his first overall 250-class victory of the season at the grueling Thunder Valley National in Colorado. Overcoming a challenging 13th-place start and an early crash in the opening moto, the resilient Japanese star mounted a ferocious late-race charge to salvage a third-place finish.

"Compared to the first two rounds, my pace and riding were better today," said the Japanese racer. "We made some suspension changes, and we found some things where I could push through to another level. Overall, I think my riding was a lot better today, so I was able to come back through and win.”

He followed that up with a stellar second-place performance in Moto 2, giving him the edge to secure the coveted overall win. Shimoda's masterful showcase of consistency and poise at high altitude proved that his factory Honda CRF250RWE Works Edition is a potent weapon as he firmly establishes himself as a premier threat in the 2026 championship hunt.

We've proven that great things really do come in ridiculously small packages with the release of our Micro 4-Wire LED Turn Signal Kit. Designed for riders who want maximum visibility without their bike looking like it grew antenna ears, these ultra-compact signals pack a seriously bright, dual-color punch into a footprint so tiny you might need a magnifying glass just to admire them. Featuring amber lighting for turning and a crisp red running/brake setup, it’s the ultimate way to stay incredibly safe on the road while making sure your bike's sleek rear-end remains entirely uncluttered.

Proving that a little asphalt surfing can't keep a good team down, Yoshimura SERT Motul staged a relentless comeback at the 2026 8 Hours of Spa Motos. Despite a crash just 30 minutes into the race that dropped their Suzuki GSX-R1000R to the back of the pack, the pit crew executed lightning-fast repairs to get rider Étienne Masson back on the track. Defying the Ardennes circuit’s notoriously unpredictable rain showers, Masson, Gregg Black, and Dan Linfoot systematically carved through the field to secure a remarkable fourth-place finish, successfully defending their second-place standing in the FIM Endurance World Championship.

If you’ve been waiting to give your pint-sized dual-sport a serious dose of attitude, the wait is over. Yoshimura R&D has rolled up its sleeves to gift the new small-bore Yamaha WR125R a healthy wake-up call with the Race RS-2 Stainless Full System Exhaust. Dropping over four pounds of stock chunkiness while serving up an impressive double-digit boost in horsepower and torque, this system ensures the little 125 can finally get out of its own way. Best of all, it’s not just a catalog tease—this made-in-the-USA power booster is shipping right now, so you can officially stop apologizing to your riding buddies for holding up the trail.
