2008 was another good year for racing here at Yoshimura as Ben Spies won his 3rd Superbike Championship, Mat Mladin finished second, and Tommy Hayden overcame injury to step up and give us several 1, 2, 3 podium dominating performances.

The “Ben and Mat” show continued to raise the bar in AMA Superbike. These two fierce competitors have made an already tough series extremely intense. Nothing, absolutely nothing, was left on the table every time Mat and Ben rolled onto the track.

It was an unusual season filled with controversy and strange ups and downs, but at the end of the day the racing was brilliant. Mat and Ben were clearly the two fastest riders in the series and Tommy made major steps forward in 2008.

The big Yoshimura Suzuki GSX-R1000s were unstoppable as well. We are very proud that the hard work and skill sets learned over many years of racing, have paid off in recent years. There is nothing more rewarding then working hard and accomplishing goals. Although our success sometimes creates challenges from those who want to penalize us for it, just like Mat and Ben in 2008, Yoshimura will continue to put in the effort needed to win.
