This is the way to go if you are serious about winning. Once your suspension is dialed in, and you are pretty well sorted out with your bike, it’s time to look at adding some more power. Starts are everything in racing. If you are getting “yanked” on the starts — it’s time to step up. At Yoshimura, we offer 3 basic levels. Stage 1 is the basic hop-up that fits the average racer best. This is the way to go if you are racing in the “C” or “B” class (Beginner or Novice). Stage 1 retains excellent reliability yet gives the racer a healthy dose of power (when used in conjunction with a Yoshimura pipe.) For the racer who is a top contender in the intermediate or “B” class, the Stage 2 makes the most sense. Stage 2 the compression is upped, the head modified, and a Yoshimura Billet cam tops off the list. With a Stage 2 engine your bike will become a fire breather. With the increase in compression more maintenance will need to be performed but all in all, a very strong yet reliable engine is the result of a Stage 2 engine kit. Stage 3 is a full -tilt racing engine featuring big horsepower gains. Nothing is left on the table. For the serious Amateur or Pro rider who is looking at winning, this is the way to go. Every part of a Stage 3 engine is manicured or modified. Even the gear sets and internal transmission parts are polished and matched using our in-house Yoshimura Isotropic Surface Finish Process. |
